Hi! I’m Ananya Sutradhar, a Research Fellow at Microsoft Research India. My work sits at the intersection of machine learning, algorithms, and systems — I enjoy building things, breaking things, and learning from both.

My research interests span approximate nearest neighbor search, information retrieval, and evaluation of deep research systems. At Microsoft Research (Team DiskANN), I work on making retrieval better and evaluating Deep Research systems, including learning filter-aware distance metrics for efficient multi-filter nearest neighbor retrieval.

I am also a SPAR Fellow at Cornell University, working with Prof. Lionel Levine on AI Safety and Eigenbench.

I completed my B.Tech in Computer Science and Technology from IIEST Shibpur in 2025. Before joining MSR, I interned as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon.

Feel free to reach out via email or find me on Google Scholar, GitHub, and Twitter/X.
